Not all remanufacturing processes are created equally, and our EMD remanufacturing process is something that we are deeply proud of. Decades of experience and generations of improvement of our process come together to restore EMD engines to a like-new status. We believe in our process so much that rebuilt cases, pans, components and assemblies are backed with a one-year warranty.
But what is included in our EMD remanufacture?
All Peaker remanufactured EMD engines come with a complete engine teardown, with crankcase, pan, and components cleaned to bare metal and all key parts tagged and tracked. Everything is thoroughly inspected by our PSI technical staff, with critical parts and areas undergoing non-destructive magnetic particle testing, allowing us to inspect down to a molecular level.
Critical areas of the engine are checked, measured, and repaired as needed. All threaded holes are checked and repaired while the case, pan, and all components are rebuilt with state of the art equipment. This brings the engine and its parts to OEM standards.
The engine is assembled, using all new gaskets and bearings, and then load tested on site. After the load test, the engine is inspected, re-torqued and painted, shipped with all build sheets and load test data for your records.
